Book a Forest Workshop for your school at a time convenient for your schedule. We can come to you or you can come to the Yurts at Apple Blossom.

Join us in August for 2 days at the Yurts to engage in hands on learning and discussions about Forest School Philosophy and Waldorf-inspired learning. Beginning our days with yoga or Tai Chi, we will guide you through a day of Forest School and the importance of movement and play from early childhood through elementary school age. Learn about dressing for the weather, safety considerations and policies, and deepening children’s connection with nature. Break out sessions will provide time for whittling, fire building, cooking, nature crafting, nature journaling, handwork, and more. Day 2 ends with a guided Forest Therapy walk or Sound Healing, leaving you rejuvenated and inspired for another year of teaching.

Light breakfast and snacks included. Pack a lunch or check out downtown options over the lunch break.

We can tailor our days to fit your needs. Group Rates for over 15 coming from the same organization. We can accommodate up to 36 participants.

Homeschool and Early Childhood families, looking for more? We are offering an Opt-Outside Weekend Retreat for Parents and Homeschool Families in August!

About the venue

Apple Blossom Village is located in the yurts and outdoor space at Rail River Folk School, 303 Railroad Street SW, Bemidji.

Drive through the silver gates and past the beautiful IEN (Indigenous Environmental Network) Garden and the Apple Blossom yurts to park down by the marina. Or park outside the gates and walk down.

We have an outdoor porta potty with handwashing or hand sanitizer available. Enjoy a walk through the garden or along the lake. Take a break in our cozy yurt. Dress for the weather and plan to be outside as much as possible with yurts and tents and canopies as rain shelters.
